GymScan ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the GymScan app and website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using GymScan, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — when you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile details you provide.
- Usage data — information about how you use the app, including which machines you scan, features you interact with, and session activity.
- Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostics and support.
- Camera — the app uses your camera solely to scan gym equipment. Images are processed to identify equipment and are not stored on our servers.
- Purchase information — if you subscribe to GymScan Pro, purchase transactions are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment details.
How we use your information
- To provide and improve the GymScan service
- To process and manage your subscription
- To send you service-related communications (e.g. receipts, support responses)
- To analyze usage patterns and improve the app experience
- To diagnose technical issues
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-party services
GymScan uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Privacy policy

- Apple — app distribution, payments, and crash reporting via the App Store. Privacy policy
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.
Data security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure database infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
GymScan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data
